SUJIT SARKAR

He started learning piano at a very young age, under the guidance of eminent pianist, Mr. Tony Meneziz. Later on, he started taking lessons from Mr. Sam F. Engineer, FTCL. He remained very close to him till his last. He holds a vast teaching experience of 30-odd years. He also worked as a regular performer for a short period. He came in touch with eminent musicians and famous musical personalities of this city and this country as well. To name a few would be eminent violinists Prof. Joseph Naskar & Mr. Stanley Gomes, celebrated pianist Mr. Baby Meneziz, and three of our country’s greatest composers, Mr. Salil Chowdhury, Mr Abhijit Bandopadhyay & Mr. Ajit Verman.

Presently, he is working as the head teacher of piano and electronic keyboard in this institute, and also as the Principal.

GOPAL SARKAR

He started learning the violin under the guidance of Mr. Sisir Chatterjee, for a short period at an early age. Later, he started taking lessons from one of this city’s celebrated and eminent violinist & teacher, Mr. Ananta Makhal at the Oxford Mission, Behala, till his last. He started teaching violin at the institute since its inception. Along with this, he also started to teach guitar from the year 1998 at this very institute.

Presently, he works here as the head violin and guitar teacher, with over 25 years of experience.

PRAMIT SARKAR

He started learning the violin and piano, from the age of 4, under the guidance of Mr. Gopal Sarkar, and Mr. Sujit Sarkar, respectively. Later on, he took lessons from dignitaries like Mr. Sam Engineer, Mr Ananta Makhal, and Ms. Fauzia Marikar. He completed his DipABRSM in Violin (2016) and Grade 8 in piano (2012). He has performed under the guidance of international conductors like Panos Karan (Greece), Didier Talpain (France), Michael Mott, and Peter Robertson (UK), etc., and has collaborated with acclaimed soloists like Alessandro Comellato, Nadine Jo Crasto (piano), Jean-Baptiste Arnold (trumpet), Vachagan Tadevosyan (Oboe), Anup Kr. Biswas (Cello) and Cheryl Bains (Soprano).

Currently, he works here as a teacher of violin and piano, as well as the conductor of the SSM String Orchestra.

PRASUN MAJUMADER

He started learning the piano at the age of 10, under the guidance of Late Mr. Raajdeep Mallik. Later on, he started taking piano lessons from Mr. Sujit Sarkar. He completed his Grade 8 in Piano and Music Theory from ABRSM.

Currently, he works here as an assistant teacher of piano and electronic keyboard, apart from being an independent performer.

NEELANJAN MITRA

He started learning the violin under the guidance of Mr. Gopal Sarkar, in 2006. He has passed several grades in violin and music theory.

He has been working here as an assistant teacher of violin for over 5 years.

Tathagata Das

He has learned the guitar under the guidance of Mr. Arka Biswas. He has passed several grades in acoustic and electric guitar, as well as in music theory, under reputed boards like ABRSM, TCL, and LCM. He has an experience of teaching the instrument for over 7 years.

Currently, he works here as an assistant teacher of guitar.
